Ryder's promise as a puppy was soon realized in the show ring. He was Best of Winners at the Greater Twin Cities Sumac Cairn Terrier Club and also at the Cairn Terrier Club of Denver Specialties with his breeder and owner at the time, Jeanette Cromwell. He also won two groups with Jeanette.
Ryder was only able to accomplish all he did with a great team. Ryder came to Edna Grabow and myself in the summer of 2014, with Cheri joining the team in 2016. Ryder and his team, have had an incredible journey. To date (6/12/20), Ryder has won 11 specialties, including the Roving National in 2015 and 2016, 5 Reserve Best in Shows, 28 Group Ones- including a Terrier Group Show Best, 29 Group Twos - including one earned at Great Western Terrier Assoc., 17 Group Threes - including one earned at Devon, and 18 Group Fours.
He is a dog that is true to the standard and a great show dog. We so appreciate all the support we have received from our fellow Cairn breeders and exhibitors as well as the judging community.
It has truly been a dream RYDE! Ryder is now retired and will come out occasionally for specialties and when veterans are offered at all-breed shows.
He came out of retirement last summer for the Columbia River Cairn Terrier Specialty and was award Best in Specialty. We also took a trip to Canada where he finished his championship with a Reserve Best in Show, 2 - Group Ones and a Group 3.
Ryder's latest adventure is being a Junior Dog with his favorite Junior Handler, Kaylee!
Ryder is available to approved bitches.
To date in limited litters, Ryder has produced 16 champions, several with performance titles, as well and two who have earned performance titles.
